Cannot access internet while connected to VPN over a firewall

First ensure that Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection is unchecked. Having this unchecked will use your own internet connection/gateway for internet traffic



Ensure that split tunneling is enabled for the SSL VPN connection

1. Connect to the fortinet that SSL VPN is configured on
2. Select VPN on the left hand side
3. Expand the SSL tree and click Portal
4. On the right hand side click tunnel-access
5. Ensure that split tunnel VPN is selected
